Re. 2013-14 Scoretracker…

To those of you who have been asking… the current plan is to publish Scoretracker’s first update of the new 2013-14 season by the end of April. Please stay tuned and thank you for your patience! 🙂

2013 Gardena Spring Trophy, April 1-3

Together with veterans Adam Rippon and Brandon Mroz, five young skaters are making their international debuts for Team USA at Gardena Spring Trophy in snowy Selva Val Gardena, Italy this week: 2013 Junior champions Polina Edmunds and Vincent Zhou (competing Novice here because he doesn’t turn 13 until Oct.), 2013 Junior pewter medalists Karen Chen (competing Novice here because she turned 13 last Aug.) and Jimmy Ma, and Jordan Moeller who was 5th in Junior.

Team USA results for Tuesday’s short programs:
Chen 41.30 (3Lo< fall, 2A, 3Lz+2T) leads Adv. Novice Girls SP;
Zhou 48.46 (2A, 3F, 3Lz+2T) leads Adv. Novice Boys SP [Video here];
Edmunds 50.69 (3Lz+1T, 3F, 2A) leads Junior Ladies SP;
Moeller 63.62 (3Lz+3T, 3F, 2A) and Ma 55.08 (3Lz+2T, 3F(e), 2A) are 1-2 after Junior Men SP;
Mroz 68.84, Rippon 63.64 are 2-3 after Senior Men SP; Kozuka JPN leads with 81.18.

Team USA results after Wednesday’s free skates:
GOLD for Karen Chen in Adv. Novice Girls! 131.24 total, 89.94 FS & 5 triples landed: 2A+3T, 3Lo, 3Lz+2T, 3S, 3Lz, 2A. Her FS music to the theme from The Godfather (her 2011-12 Novice FS revamped?) [Video here].
GOLD for Vincent Zhou in Adv. Novice Boys! 153.55 total, 105.09 FS & 7 triples landed: 3S, Rippon 3Lz, 2A, 3Lo, ‘tano 3F, 3F+2T (both arms up on 2T), 3Lz+3T [Video here].
GOLD for Polina Edmunds in Junior Ladies! 158.45 total, 107.76 FS & 6 triples landed: 3Lz+3T, 3F+3T, 2A, 1F, 3Lo, 3S+2T+2Lo, 2A. She debuted a new FS to Grieg’s Peer Gynt Suite (“Solveig’s Song & “Morning Mood”) [Video here].
GOLD for Jordan Moeller & BRONZE for Jimmy Ma in Junior Men! Moeller 195.67 (132.05 FS); Ma 153.98 (98.90 FS). Moeller landed 7 triples: 3F, 2A, 3Lz+3T, 3Lo, 3Lz, 3F+2T+1Lo, 3S, 2A+2T [Video here].
SILVER for Adam Rippon 219.16 (155.52, 1st in FS) Rippon debuted a new FS to Debussy’s Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun, choreographed by Tom Dickson [Video here];
4th for Brandon Mroz 190.26; Takahiko Kozuka JPN won, 228.63 (147.45 FS).
